As we are still extremely limited in foreign travel, owing to the current unpleasantness, for the second year running I am spending my holidays in Northumberland. This involves a good deal of driving, from south western England to the North West.
It is noticeable that a lot of the HGV lorries have adverts on the back searching for new drivers. A lot of pubs, restaurants and cafes are also advertising for staff. Is this Brexit? Or Covid? Or people finding other jobs during lockdown?
Probably Brexit.
This is a picture of the grey water recycling pond at Gloucester Services. Somehow they manage to make things ethical and hide most of the buildings behind trees. They also have a Farm Shop.

Since lockdown and the appalling weather conditions across the world, indicating that we have finally buggered it all up and the world is going to hell in a handcart, it is noticeable how many cars and lorries there are about and how driving induces a faint feeling of guilt.
