More Stanthorpe

This morning everyone went off to energetic things – rowing, ping pong, dog walking etc whilst I stayed at home, read my book and sniffled into a hankie. I think I may have turned a tiny corner though 🤞🏽

This afternoon we went to the Girraween National Park which has an interesting mixture of flora and fauna.

The Eastern Banjo Frog or Pobblebonk. It gets its name from the ‘bonk’ noise it makes.
Bald Rock Creek
The remains of a tree damaged by fire.
A kangaroo!
This place is famous for its spring flowers.
When the rains come the whole of that bare rock will be covered in water.
Me in front of the creek.
The granite belt.
Close up of tree where the burnt bark is peeling off.
Kangaroo with joey. We saw several who were neither scared of people nor begging for food. Good to see.

And then we came home, watched the sunset and had home made pizza from their pizza oven.

Andy putting wood on the fire pit.
