Death Valley is exactly as you would imagine. Acres of desert – although very little sand; the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere, and many many tourists. It was also very hot. Seems bizarre that it would be hotter in the valley than on the mountains but that’s the way it is. Zabriskie Point anyone?
