So this morning I walked around Santa Barbara. Nice town, affluent but not as precious as Carmel. Nice beach, shops etc.

Then I went to the mission – the only one still active and run by the Franciscans. I had seen these posts on the freeway and wondered what they were. The Camino Real was the royal road between the Spanish missions, from San Diego up to San Francisco.

Then I drove. And drove. My phone is refusing to do SatNav, the freeway was solid and when I stopped to ask directions I got it all wrong. 😫 here now.
Between Santa Barbara and Santa Monica, Santa Claus Lane. No words required.
Excellent photos once again. Looks fantastic.

Hi Ann
We are enjoying your trip with you…. virtually!!
My brother Karl spent a year at 🎅 Barbara University in 1980. No doubt he left his mark around the area: stains, graffiti, maybe some offspring..? as he did work his way through the female volleyball team…..!
Enjoy, safe driving
Love S&B xx
