Bora Bora

Last day of the cruise! Wonderful stuff. The staff and facilities are lovely and they really take care of you at all stages. Worth the vast amounts of money.

Well, Bora Bora is another atoll, a mountain surrounded by lagoons and expensive hotels. Went this morning to feed black tip sharks and stingrays. The rays will feed from your hand and even nosed up to the bloke with the bucket. You do not touch the sharks but they didn’t seem to be bothered by us. Then we went snorkelling (sort of, in my case) on the reef. Beautiful fish, clams etc.

Picnic lunch on an atoll – boat had moved half the kitchen and waiting staff there to barbecue stuff. Spent the afternoon lazing on the beach, swimming and hoping my back isn’t too red. One more meeting and dinner to go.

The staff entertained us during dinner. These in the video are the entertainment staff plus one of the guides. We then got the kitchen staff doing a haka both on their own and with any male guest they could drag into it.

There will probably be nothing tomorrow – hanging about waiting for plane – or Friday – disappearing into the international date line. Plane leaves 2am Friday, gets in 6.30 Saturday but it only takes 5 1/2 hours!

  1. The pics look just amazing…..can’t believe the colour of the sea….just gorgeous!
It really sounds like the cruise has been a brilliant experience and well worth the money as you said.
I am learning a lot and really look forward to reading your blog every day!
I can’t remember where you’re off to next but needn’t wait long to find out……
Around here it’s halloween and on November 5th it’s bonfire night ( just in case you wanted to be reminded).

  2. I look forward to your blog everyday although I’m not so good at responding everyday – nevertheless, I love the photos and descriptions. It looks like a terrific cruise. Enjoy.
