Well today we leapt out of bed like young lambs and got a shuttle bus to the ferry terminal. Three and a half hours it takes, most of them getting out of Wellington Harbour and then into Queen Charlotte Sound. See map for details. Nice and very large ferry, just like crossing the channel only with less drunkenness. This is us leaving Wellington and then the ferry going back down the sound after we had got off it.

We then had lunch and drove along the scenic route to Nelson which is where we are now. This is my hotel room on the marina. Not a lot of excitement today. Apparently there were dolphins following the ferry but I didn’t see them.

Great views – and the marina should at least feature lots of people to watch with your feet up and a glass of something to hand.
