Terrigal – continued

Well the climate continues to be dodgy whilst the stories ( from The Guardian) get worse and worse. The really bad fire is still 32km away and, according to Google Maps, is a 47 minute drive from here. Not reassuring but I am taking my tone from my hosts and trying not to worry. It has improved a bit the last day or two – think the wind must have changed direction. This is Rachael and Dave’s flat with the red roof. Fingers crossed!

Have done a lot of lounging around the house with the cat who reckons that I am her new best friend – mainly because I am here I think.

Yesterday I went to the pictures to see The Good Liar with Sir Ian McKellen and Dame Helen Mirren. (Got to get the titles right). Very good movie about a conman with a couple of unexpected twists at the end.

Today we have been to the craft market on the beach, for an unexpectedly brisk and uphill walk around the bay and to the mall and the supermarket. Didn’t buy anything.

This is the war memorial on the seafront, Father Christmas Oz style and the view from the top of the cliff. For some reason there was a lady rockpooling in a sparkly Santa hat but she was too far away for an effective picture.

  1. Looks like a nice peaceful street. There is some reporting of the fires in Oz although quite a lot of the news at this end is taken up with the election circus. We went to see The Good Liar and enjoyed it. Well worth seeing. The beaches look lovely and warm and I love the Santa with surf board! Ann x
