Still in Sydney

I seem to be slowing down – can’t rustle up the energy to do much. However, today I trusted Apple maps to find the post office for me. Off I went on a 20 minute walk (including a large hill not marked on the map!) and on the way back came via the beach. Different route led me past another post office about 5 mins from the flat. Hmmm. At least I got some exercise. I also went to the ice cream store recommended to me as the best in Sydney. First flavour I looked at – Christmas turkey stuffing! (Ingredients did not include meat).

This evening I have been to see La Boheme at the Opera House. Got a ticket for less than half price – not a sure why. Surrounded by people who hadn’t seen an opera before. One complaint that the singing was ‘too loud’ and two people surprised that she died!

  1. There’s quite a rake on those stalls! but it must make for pretty good sight lines. Actually, when you come to consider most operatic plotlines, they’re pretty lurid and might come as a bit of surprise to folk who haven’t encountered them before. *g*

    1. I’m with Gill below – I don’t know if you’ve been wearing a mask, but I wouldn’t under-estimate the subtle impact of several weeks of breathing in smoke. Look after yourself and have some lazy days.

  2. Pleased to hear that you are still managing to do some things all things considered. Apparently people in NZ are having respiratory problems due to the smoke from the bushfires!!
Sounds like you enjoyed the opera even if others didn’t appreciate it!!

  3. Thanks for the consideration for my lungs. Have not been wearing a mask as they don’t keep out the really nasty stuff. Spending as much time as possible in air conditioning!
