OK, not 30 degrees, but warm nonetheless. The moors look glorious in the sunshine, the birds are singing and there are so many tourists about that one AirBnB property has more than 100% occupancy. (People come from say, Friday to Monday, but pay for a week because there are no part weeks in June. Someone else then picks up the rest of the week but also pays for a whole week. Nice!)
Saw a bird I couldn’t identify on a branch. Going on this list, I think it might be a meadow pipit. https://www.northpennines.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/ID-Guide-Birds-of-open-country-in-the-North-Pennines.pdf
Visit yesterday from the grandchildren – delightful tots – and their mother – also delightful. With two dogs still trying to kill each other, they luckily decided not to bring theirs. Water play was participated in by all – involuntarily in some cases.
In the afternoon walked the dog along the Pennine Way (for 2 miles, I’m not stupid and she has very short legs) but felt very lightweight compared with the fully equipped people coming the other way.

Back to the South Tynedale Railway this afternoon for another walk along the South Tyne Trail. Probably no chance of almost bumping into old friends this time.
I’m shocked…I never thought of your little lady as a fighter…feisty, possibly. Anyway, the scenery is still looking wonderful.
