Yet more driving

The New South Wales road system has some very effective slogans – Drive Revive Survive for don’t fall asleep at the wheel: Don’t Be A Tosser for take your litter home and NOT This Way, Turn Round for those who have started the wrong way up the motorway.

Again, miles of old growth forests and National Parks, interspersed with cattle farms which suddenly segued into sugar cane when we got far enough north. Warnings about sugar cane burning were a bit apocalyptic.

There were also signs to Scenic Drives where you turned off the motorway and went back on later on. Trouble is, everything was taking long enough as it was. I was tempted to go and see the UNESCO rain forest but there was only one sign and I couldn’t remember which exit it was attached to.

These were the toilets in the place where I had lunch.
Original bungalows.
This is the place I am staying in Bangalow.
It’s beautifully put together but there are no people in charge – it’s all electronic locks and phone this number if you have a problem.
I, of course, have the room on the opposite side to this, next to the main road.
There are fruit bats in the garden!

And, of course, the WiFi doesn’t reach my room and there appears to be almost no 5G.

  1. That’s a gorgeous BnB or whatever it’s classified as. A pity about the rainforest, but as in the US and as you say everything is a long way from everywhere and you really don’t want to get lost. Hope you have good aircon in the car.
