Started off today being woken up by rain on the roof at 5am. Bit of a surprise as none was forecast as far as I knew. Went to Holland this afternoon for a mooch around the shops, tea and general touristy type things.
Holland is a small town on the coast south of here. It has a private religious college which makes the ambience very respectable. It was (obviously) founded by Dutch people and has a tulip festival every spring. https://www.holland.org/
We did what you do – tasted alcohol in the brewery, mooched around the bookshop, drank coffee and ate macarons in a chi chi french (ish) cafe and looked at many Dutch themed souvenirs. A woman in the bookshop said she could listen to me talk all day as I sounded so intelligent! The advantages of a British accent?

Tomorrow I have to drive to Detroit airport and get the plane home. I probably won’t have anything to add to this so goodbye and thank you for reading. Lovely to see all my old friends and let’s hope some of them can come over for Annfest 26 next year. Further information on that later.
So glad you got to see so many old friends. Sorry I’ve missed a couple of posts…stuff. Did you get any of the jam? Reminds me of a sign outside a restaurant I saw in NY in 1979 which read “An Entirely New Concept in Chinese Kosher Catering”.
Safe journey home.
